Neue Wiener Werkstätte In-house Exhibition
The colours are earthy tones and the previously highly desirable cherry and maple are now substituted by oak and environmentally friendly high-gloss varnishes. Compared with last year, the modern and the classic collection conveys an even lighter feeling and has become more transparent and harmonious. The collection displays an unistakable line with clearly defined standards.
The trend: The preference is to remain seated at the table after dinner, and therefore highly comfortable chairs are in demand. The living room, where the coffee used to be served, has reverted to a more private sphere for relaxing and lounging around, where groups of upholstered elements and carcass furniture are the current trend The new fabric and leather collection follows the trend of natural tones, with a few blue and aubergine highlights. The furniture and materials are refined, never shrill. Designer Johann Heil comments: “A unique aspect of out new fabric collection is that the sample fabrics were produced exclusively for Neue Wiener Werkstätte. In the creative process we were inspired by the designs of the old Wiener Werkstätte."
